Asus G53SX - SZ1208V First Impression

Hi all,

I'm reviving this blog after leaving it rot for quite some time(maybe too long).

This time, I'll just cover it up with a G53SX Review. As I've just collected it recently and posting the review while typing on the laptop itself.

This is a G53SX, this specific model comes with the GTX 560M which many user complained that it has a crippled bus width.



We'll start off with a BBB(Big Bad Box) LOL.


Here's what inside that big box. :D

The big black/red ROG box is the laptop box, the green color bag in the plastic bag intact is the Bundled Bag, and Mouse is hidden on one compartment.

This is the laptop itself.

This laptop is HUGE.

I'll just brief what do we have on each angle of the laptop.

The left side has a Optical Drive Bay, followed by 2x USB 2.0 ports.


The Back side has a dual vent which blows the hot air out from the back, this dual vent design is the eye-catchy feature that caught my attention ever since Asus introduced G73JH back in June 2010. Next to each vent has a k-slot lock, which u could say u could actually hook up 2 Kensington locks onto this laptop, perhaps double the protection?
Note that, Left Vent(in the pic) is the GPU heat, Right Vent is the CPU. On normal Usage, normally user will feel the GPU vent will blow more heat compared to CPU vent.


From Left, Audio Jack, Microphone Jack, 1x USB 2.0 port, 1x SS USB 3.0 Port, HDMI1.4a(which enable 3D Images/Video Transmission), VGA (For projector usage or CRT monitor if u has some CRT lying around), RJ45 Port(LAN), Power Port.


This is the Card Reader slot which could read SD/SDHC/MSPD memory card. Micro SD/SDHC will required the adapter itself.

This is so far for the physical outlook of the G53SX Laptop.

Let's move on what inside the ROG Box aside from the laptop.

This is the battery pack, it is the same kind of battery which is used in G53/G73/VX7. As it is the same design that has been shared ever since G73JH launch.


User Manual, Driver CD, Quick Start Guide, and Asus Notebook Update Information.
Personally, I would prefer NOT TO USE the Driver CD. Always get the latest driver from Asus Website for laptop. As for Nvidia Driver, get the latest driver from Nvidia Website.

Malaysia Company attitude abusing 1Malaysia Concept?

I'm one of the patience final year students who's been awaiting for his bloody internet to installed by the corresponding Local ISP who's been abusing the 1Malaysia concept introduced by the government.

Yes, in this post I'm very pissed and disappointed with TM Corp. Better watch out, TM. Ur management sucks!!!

According to 1Malaysia concept, the motto is "Rakyat didahulukan, pencapaian diutamakan."
Yes, I demand my right as a Subscriber, and as well as the Citizen's Rights. Screw U, TM for being so irresponsible, and unpromising.

I'm current disatisfied by it as I've applied my internet line around the end of oct, till now there's still no action taken, not even any notification informing that my application is either fail, success or delayed. So, my question to this bloody ISP is "When will I get my Internet?" I demand some apropriate answer despite having the company to hide their staff working half slacking attitude, and the same reason "Ports are full". Do u expect some subscribers to be fools?

I'm desperately in need of my internet for all my project and I've been restricted to use max volume of 1.5gb per month under this Maxis Broadband. I'm a heavy user, so I exceed the max volume easily even within a single day. There's also a not for Maxis Broadband, ur so noob that even P1 wimax could perform better than u. This is something for u, "Never Block the user's internet even after they exceeded the max volume usage."

Exam's over.... So whats next?

Finally, a hell short and struggling trimester has over. Now, even the final exams is over.... So what's the plan next? Afterall I'll be going home... I guess i'm gonna torrent heavy and tries to get my Final Year Project done before the new trimester start...still it is a tough topic i've chosen. I wonder how am I suppose to proceed with all of these stuffs around me.

PS: This message is to remind me to find my senior IT notes which she left for me last few years ago.

Gundam 00 Imitation

I don't see any imitation for EXACT gundam 00 copy, but hey its still under sunrise so they have the right to copy. Apparently it looks like Gundam 00 vs Gundam Arche from gundam 00 series.

Seems like September is really a busy month?
There are some people that hopes "Wake me up when september ends". But for me? There's nothing to be anxious or worry about.

Perhaps, I'm just too anticipating about the Upcoming release of Persona 3 Portable for PSP.

The gameplay is promising since i finished it on my PS2. Seems like the only thing that concern me is the firmware of my PSP. Currently its on 5.50 Gen-A. However, WHY can't IT play TALES OF VS??

Today, I was pretty in a good mood and I forgot to fed those kittens last week which I promised to do...

So, I went out early today and went to the 7-Eleven store to get something which those kittens could it....

The fact is there's 2 type of bread for me to choose... 1 of it is Spicy Tuna and another is Ikan Bilis... I tried both and tuna is more easier for them to chew.

And I was transferred from programming section to system support section. Getting my name cards soon. (^.^)

Unlucky day. 不幸の一日。。。

This morning, when i woke up from my sleep... Well, first thing I look at is my Handphone to get the time... however it says 2pm... okay... then i 'll confirm again... and it says 1pm? Uh... I'm not sure what's going on... but let see again... it's 3pm... Oh man... I'm seeing hallucination. Next I just wake up and look at the clock on my pc... But, weird... The laptop is off... I press the power button. but its still off... Ok, i try it with the battery.. It works.... First thing which came across .. OMG.... what's going on? Next straight to the Asus Centre and ask them... After they tested the laptop with their charger, they say "Oh, there's no problem with ur charging port." . That means, it's the adapter is burned or whatsoever.... I asked them I were to buy a new adapter from them, how much will it cost... RM200... I'm speechless and yet I went to Low Yat Plaza which is a stone throw away to find some replacement adapter. And I found one shop selling it for Rm100 but it's a HP adapter and only 1 month warranty provided. Fine.... That's how it goes....

After with all the hassle at Bukit Bintang/Imbi.... I went back to KL sentral and goes to Subang Jaya to reformat my friends pc who's a victim of Windows Genuine Activation. The moment I was walking throught the Carrefour Subang Jaya.. It rains. Man, that sucks... I rained cat and dog till around 6pm. During the duration, I was bz wif his team logo design and Formating pc. Sounds like multitasking? Maybe yes, maybe no. There's only one thing I forgot to do from my To Do list in Subang Jaya SS15.... Collect that damn phone.

Nevermind, but still i wasted half of my day becoz of the Laptop adapter and how am I gonna rush everything?

Why did my computer related hardware often spoil when I come back from home to Cyberjaya?
Is there a curse lying behind all these? I really don't know and I really starting to hate myself being such a destroyer.

I need to think of something to post.

With the morning conversation I had with Sanko, the Leader of BTL this morning. I felt a relieve at the same time panic as I couldn't contact XY, our GDC club Prez for the official Club logo and the Game Fest'09 Logo to do the paperwork, and invitation for BTL. That's a rush though. Still time flies...

With some effects from Adobe Photoshop cs3 applier.. Exelica now looks more like a Angel... no, she looks more like a Goddess to me. Haha. Anyway, this is the latest MSN scheme i used for my MSN at the moment. It's free though.

OMG, It's pawnage!!!

Does it looks like some sketch or some 3d model job?? We'll I'm not pretty sure of that, but this is damn awesome!!! OO Raiser(Gundam OO + O Raiser) + Seven Swords? Meh, this is really godlike if Setsuna uses the trans am to fight Ali's Gundam Arche!

The Scythe Co. has reveal the latest godlike size cooling solution for the pc.

As you can see in the picture, Scythe
Godhand is the huge CPU cooler. I wonder how it weight... it looks pretty heavy for the upper body.
And we have Scythe Setsu Gen for the GPU cooler. I suppose the demo use is a ATi GPU which is why the PCB board color is so obviously red.

This is the ThemalTake latest Casing which has a really weird design. I mean REALLY weird.. But one thing which is doubtful, is this casing fully alluminium made or just some black coating to finish it as it looks dark, stylish and sorta like james bond?

MSI fans has always been waiting for a good 790gx which offer various of benefit like this one. The Msi 790GX-8D is a new AMD board which come with 8 DIMM slots(4x DDR2 slots, and 4x DDR3 slots) Sounds flexible? Yeah indeed. :D No doubt most ppl want to keep their DDR2 Ram and overclock the system. Still, Intel processor performance is far ahead compared to AMD processor.

Oh yeah, this is something which I had for my dinner. And guess what? It's only MYR 3.00!! Surprise well, i did took a lot of rice and flatten it. ;p There's the fried toufu on teh left. Baked red beans on the middle with the tomato sause and Ladies finger on the right. :DJust chilli left, should i eat it or not to eat it?

Btw, currently V is doing the same stuff eating vegetarian for 30 days.
As usual, i pick vegetarian for my lunch. Just like most ppl don't really notice it.

What i'm listening now?

Well, this is what i'm listening online just recently... notice the funny afro green dude(it's a frog actually based on keroro gunsou) It looks funny though... there's so many free radio to stream online without the need of getting a house alarm radio kind of device... But, streaming online of course requires a connection.. erm an internet connection to allow ur media player to interact online with the radio server itself.

Even the Sony PSP has a Internet Radio software included in the firmware(4.00 onwards) itself which offers various choice of radios which broadcast different type of musics from 70' to r&b, j-pop, k-pop, and more.

Still, i wonders how the future looks like.

That's pretty normal for me to be in such state... Which is why i always ended up with the fatigue in class(i mean sleeping in front of the lecturers...)

Well, yeah pretty much things has happened and I'm not pretty sure if I wanted to continue blogging since most of my friends are still updating their blogspot daily... Back bloggin? Messy life?

Well, here i'm back after quite some while haven't been blogging already... the fact is i'm lazy to do so with all the workloads around me... yes, i mean it's real works for now... paperworks, study, and fansub case... well, i'm still wondering how long can i last... hmm..

This world sure has been off balance... where the world has lost it's judgement and things are begin to turn around along with nature and global warming are happening all around the world. With most of the computer parts made of RoHS(Environment safe material) people are struggling to prevent the worsen of the nature disaster.... Well, the fact is it's too late already... this world isn't the world that i used to know before.....

It's now all in your hand people of earth. Be sure to find ways of saving our nature.... But How is another matter....

Until then, i'll post again... but i'm not sure when... yet...

Budget of the month!!!!

I just bought a PSP Slim & Lite recently which is the new color Lavender Purple....
And upcoming soon is the speaker which i got offered from some dealer...
It's a CreAtive SBS 5.1 Speaker selling at RM145!
Many of you would wonder why is it so cheap??
Creative is trying to clear off some of their excessive stock.
The original price was told was Rm2xx...

Luckily, i didn't spend money on ATi HD2600XT graphic card....
Well, i feel that my graphic card is old enough already ATi X300 still survive till now without failing me. ATi just released HD3850 and HD3870. I'm planning to get the HD3850 but the price is
average..well i don't mind that much... since it's specification are much better compared to the previous HD2k series. Still, i need $$ to get these card.... man, how am i suppose to survive this world without money???

I don't trust people anymore....

As title, some people would understand what i'm thinking right now.... I stop trusting people around me anymore.... only some that i trust will not be reveal....

Why I stopped trusting people?
1. People are selfish.
2. People only think for themselves without considering how other people feels.
3. These kind of selfish people are not worthy for you to have faith in, so better not believe in whatever people says...
4.The world always changes as time pass....
